Lunch
Lunch can be a lot of fun. It’s a break during the day to stop, relax and enjoy your friends or family and refuel together. But remember, your still in the middle of your day and you need to take in good useable calories to keep going to maintain concentration and sprint to the finish.
This can be a carbohydrate, protein rich meal with some good sustaining fats to see you through the rest of your day like eggs, olive oil or avocado. Eating a mid-day meal high in calories, saturated fat and sugar, might feel good while you’re eating it, but after an hour or so you’ll begin to feel the weight of exhaustion from your body trying to process all that food. Your body works hard to produce insulin which helps elevate and keep your blood sugar levels where they should be and that’s a big job. Once that job is done processing a heavy meal, the body is tired and you’ll need a nap (Weg, A., et.al., (2023).
